SEP (Systems Engineering Platform)
Elan8’s core platform for requirements, architecture, and verification.
SEP (Community Edition)
Coming soon
SEP Community Edition is the free, open-core way to bring structure to your systems engineering. You get the full core platform: structured requirements and declarative architecture in plain text, automatic traceability from requirements through architecture to verification, and versioning in Git. Everything stays in your repo — no database, no lock-in.
Support: Community support only (forums, community channels). No formal product support from Elan8.
Ideal for teams that want to adopt modern systems engineering without upfront cost: run it locally, use your existing Git workflow, and keep all artifacts portable and human-readable. A low-friction way to move from documents and spreadsheets to a single source of truth.
Need product support or additional capabilities? SEP Pro is the commercial option.
SEP Pro
Coming soon
Support: Product support from Elan8. You get direct support when you need it — not just community.
Beyond support, we plan to add capabilities aimed at teams that need governance, compliance, and scale (e.g. impact analysis, dashboards, compliance templates, CI integration). The exact feature set is still being defined. Contact us if you’d like to discuss your needs or be kept informed.
SEP vs SEP Pro
The main difference is support. SEP (Community Edition) is supported by the community only. SEP Pro includes product support from Elan8 — so you get help when you need it. Beyond that, we are still defining the exact feature set for SEP Pro (e.g. additional governance, compliance, or CI capabilities). Get in touch if you want to learn more or shape what we build.
What SEP is not
- • Not a diagramming tool: Diagrams are output when you need them. You define requirements and architecture in text; the model is the source of truth.
- • Not DOORS or Cameo: We’re building lightweight, Git-native tooling for mid-sized teams — not enterprise MBSE with heavy admin and lock-in.
- • Not a replacement for your IDE or CI: SEP fits into your workflow. Plain text, version control, and optional CI checks.
